Energy-efficient outdoor LED lighting design and installation. Path lights, uplights, deck lights, and smart controls for homes and businesses across Lee County.
Landscape lighting transforms a yard the moment the sun goes down. A property that looks ordinary in daylight can become dramatic at night with the right lighting plan. We design and install low-voltage landscape lighting across Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and the rest of Lee County for homes, HOAs, and commercial properties.
Low-voltage (12V) systems are the standard for residential landscape lighting. Compared to 120V line-voltage systems, they’re safer (no electrocution risk if a fixture is damaged), cheaper to install (smaller wire, simpler connections), and use 80-90% less energy than older incandescent or halogen alternatives. Modern LED fixtures last 15-20 years with no bulb replacement and consume 2-7 watts each.
We design lighting plans during free property visits, walking your yard at dusk to identify the architectural features, trees, paths, and beds that benefit most from lighting. Installation is typically 1-3 days depending on system size, and most systems last 15-20 years with minimal maintenance.

Landscape lighting done right is invisible at first. You see the home and trees illuminated, not the fixtures or wires. That requires real design thinking, not just sticking lights at random.
Most cheap landscape lighting installs put fixtures in obvious locations, point lights upward where they create glare instead of accent, and use cold-white LEDs that wash out warm Florida architecture. Good landscape lighting is intentional. Each fixture has a purpose, the color temperature matches the home, and the result feels coherent rather than randomly bright.

Low-voltage 12V systems are dramatically safer than line-voltage 120V systems for outdoor use. A damaged fixture or cut wire poses no electrocution risk. Florida’s wet ground and salty coastal soil makes this matter more here than in drier climates.
Low-voltage systems also use much smaller gauge wire, making installation faster and less invasive than running line-voltage conduit. Modern LED fixtures (we use Volt, Kichler, and FX Luminaire) consume 2-7 watts each, last 15-20 years, and produce zero heat that would attract bugs or wear out fixtures.
A complete landscape lighting plan uses several different effects. Path lighting: low fixtures along walkways, driveways, and stair edges for safe navigation. Uplighting: ground-mounted fixtures pointed up at trees, palms, columns, or architectural features. Downlighting: fixtures mounted high in trees casting moonlight effects below. Accent lighting: fixtures highlighting specific features like fountains, statuary, or doorways. Wall washing: wide-angle fixtures lighting flat surfaces evenly.
Most residential plans use 4-6 effects together, with each fixture serving a specific purpose.
Modern landscape lighting integrates with home automation. Wi-Fi controllers from Lutron, Ketra, and Smart Vision let you set scenes, schedule lights to dawn and dusk astronomically, dim individual zones, and control via phone or voice assistant. Holiday color changes, party mode, and security lighting modes are all programmable.
For commercial and HOA installs, scheduling and dimming are particularly valuable. Walkways can light bright when the property is in use and dim to safety levels when it’s empty.
SWFL fixtures need to handle salt air, hurricane wind, and 95-100% summer humidity. We use brass and copper fixtures (which patina beautifully and resist corrosion) for canal-front and coastal properties. Plastic fixtures degrade in our UV and humidity within 5-7 years; metal fixtures last 20+.
Fixture mounting also matters. We anchor uplights below grade, run wire through conduit where it crosses irrigation, and seal all junctions with waterproof connectors. The result is a system that survives hurricane season without losing fixtures.

Whether you want subtle lighting to accent specific features or a comprehensive plan that transforms your property after dark, we design and install lighting plans during free on-site consultations. The conversation usually happens at dusk so you can see what each effect looks like in real time.
Pricing depends on the number of fixtures and the scope of the install. We provide a free written estimate after a site visit so you have firm pricing before any work starts.
